What Is SAS?
SAS is a "Statistical Analysis System" and is a software developed by the SAS Institute of Advanced Analytics.
It was developed at North Carolina State University from 1966 to 1976, and developed software that was integrated with the SAS Institute since 1976.
SAS is a software suite for solving and managing advanced analytics, data, business intelligence, and predictive analytics. Therefore, with the help of SAS software, we can solve and manage our data, analytics, etc. very efficiently. Because the data that is not handled properly is a trash can. Therefore, SAS software will help us with this.
We can complete so many tasks with SAS and some of them are listed below: -
1. In this, we can access data in all formats including SAS, MS Excel tables, and database files.
2. With this software, we can manage and manage existing data to obtain the data we need.
For example - we can subset existing data, then combine it with other data, and create new data.
3. We can also analyze data using different statistical techniques.
4. In SAS, data tables are stored in the SAS library. A library is a collection of one or more SAS files that are approved by the directory.
5. All SAS lists have two level names, the first name is Libref, from which the SAS is informed of the library containing the lists. The name of the second level is the name of the selected list.
Therefore, an SAS program is a range of steps it follows and we submit to SAS to implement it.
The SAS program may contain data phases, a PRC or any combination of these two depending on the need for the job. Through data steps, we can include data in the table, and calculate the values of new variables, and we can check and correct data errors.
